Cancer: Thriving & Surviving Returns This August

Registration is now open for our free 6-week workshop series.

A cancer diagnosis can change so many parts of daily life. Beyond appointments and treatments, there are often new questions, new routines, and new challenges to navigate. Fatigue, sleep, stress, difficult emotions, changing relationships, and conversations with healthcare providers can all become part of the journey.

You don't have to figure it all out alone.

Pacific Cancer Foundation is pleased to announce that registration is now open for our next Cancer: Thriving & Surviving workshop, beginning Wednesday, August 5 at the Cameron Center in Wailuku.

Developed at Stanford University, Cancer: Thriving & Surviving is a free, evidence-based workshop that helps people living with cancer and those who support them build practical skills for everyday life. Over six weekly sessions, participants explore simple, realistic strategies for managing symptoms, reducing stress, communicating with loved ones and healthcare providers, setting achievable goals, and caring for both their physical and emotional well-being.

Rather than focusing on what cancer has taken away, the workshop focuses on helping participants discover what they can do today to feel more supported, informed, and in control.

This year's workshop will be facilitated by Gretchen Voxland and Regine Lang-Miles, M.A., both cancer survivors and Certified Cancer: Thriving & Surviving Trainers. Together, they bring professional experience, personal understanding, and a welcoming approach that encourages participants to learn at their own pace.

The workshop consists of just six weekly sessions, meeting Wednesdays from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, August 5 through September 9. Light healthy refreshments are provided, and participants are welcome to bring breakfast or snacks.

Whether you are newly diagnosed, living with metastatic cancer, adjusting after treatment, or supporting someone you love, this workshop offers practical tools, meaningful conversation, and a community that understands.

Registration is now open!
