About the AARP HomeFit Program

AARP HomeFit is a nationally recognized program that helps people make their homes safer, more comfortable, and better suited to support independent living. Rather than requiring major renovations, HomeFit focuses on practical, affordable improvements that can make everyday life easier and help reduce the risk of falls and injuries.

Room by room, participants learn how small changes, such as improving lighting, creating clear walkways, adding grab bars, or reducing common trip hazards, can make a meaningful difference in safety and confidence at home.

Pacific Cancer Foundation is proud to bring the AARP HomeFit program to Maui County through our Healing at Home initiative. By offering free workshops throughout Central Maui, Hāna, Lānaʻi, and Molokaʻi, we're helping cancer patients, caregivers, and older adults create home environments that support recovery, independence, and healing.

Supporting Healing Where It Happens Every Day

For many people facing cancer, recovery continues long after leaving a treatment center or medical appointment.

Changes in balance, strength, energy, or mobility can make familiar spaces more difficult to navigate. A dark hallway, loose rug, narrow pathway, or bathroom without proper support can become a source of stress or potential injury.

Healing at Home is one more way Pacific Cancer Foundation walks alongside our cancer neighbors throughout their journey. By helping people feel safer and more confident in their own homes, we hope to support recovery, independence, and peace of mind.
