Our Nutritional Support program provides our cancer community support during and after treatment to help prevent or resolve nutritional deficiencies, achieve and maintain a healthy weight, preserve body mass and minimize nutrition related side effects. These are all crucial aspects to successfully completing treatment.

Free nutritional counseling is rare in the outpatient world but the benefits are significant. For people suffering from side effects of radiation therapy or chemotherapy, it can make all the difference in the world between tolerating therapy and giving up. And this service is FREE!!

Sally Pechstein, MPH, RDN

Sally Pechstein is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, who comes to PCF with 18 years of experience as a Nutrition Counselor, 8 years in an outpatient clinical care setting and 13 years in private practice.  She offers her clients compassionate guidance and information when navigating health challenges that impact and/or are affected by their nutritional choices.  Sally has a deeply held belief in the holistic nature of health and healing, and advocates a blend of conventional medical nutrition therapy and a complementary/ alternative approach to wellness.

 

 

 

ENSURE PROGRAM

Ensure is a nutritional supplement that patients often need during treatment. PCF provides Ensure free of charge to qualified patients during their treatment. Ensure is provided to Oncology patients at Maui Memorial Medical Center and the Moloka'i Kukui Ahi program. A doctor's prescription and referral is required.
