100 Days Until Paddle for Life

100 days from now, canoes will push off from Hanakaoʻo Beach in Lāhainā—headed for Lāna‘i, and carried by something greater than waves. Paddle for Life returns October 4–5, bringing together over 450 paddlers, supporters, and survivors for a 36-mile roundtrip journey to support cancer patients across Maui County and honor the loved ones we paddle for.

More than a race or a challenge, Paddle for Life is a voyage of purpose. It honors those whose lives have been touched by cancer and raises critical funds for families in our local community through Pacific Cancer Foundation.

This year marks our 16th annual Paddle for Life—and we’re already off to an incredible start. Registration opened just 10 days ago, and we already have over 20 teams signed up and more than $20,000 raised! Our 2025 fundraising goal is $300,000, with each paddler committing to raise a minimum of $300. In honor of year 16, we’re encouraging each team to aim for a collective fundraising goal of $16,000.

To mark the countdown, we’re sharing the newly released video of last year’s voyage, created by ʻOhana Films. It captures the spirit of Paddle for Life with extraordinary care—paddlers speaking from the heart, canoes lined with the names and faces of loved ones they paddle for, and reflections from Uncle Kimokeo on how this voyage began and why it continues.

Funds raised through Paddle for Life directly support Pacific Cancer Foundation’s work across Maui County—helping cancer patients and families access one-on-one navigation, ground and air transportation to treatment, financial assistance, nutritional counseling, and wellness programs that care for the whole person—body, mind, and spirit. Every stroke helps keep these services free and accessible to those who need them most.

Every mile paddled brings us closer—to one another, and to a community where no one faces cancer alone.

Whether you’re paddling, fundraising, volunteering, or cheering from the shoreline, you are part of something bigger than yourself. You are part of a movement that lifts, holds, and connects.

So as we count down the days, we invite you to watch the video, feel the mana, and join us. Register a team. Donate to a paddler. Share the story. Be a part of this journey, however you can.

Together, let’s cross for a cause—and come home stronger.
