11:30am - 1:30pM, light lunch provided
In our typical Western-style diet, two-thirds of our protein intake comes from animal sources, yet scientific research is clear that a diet based on plant foods is the most beneficial for our overall health & longevity. Come join us as we have fun exploring plant proteins (with an emphasis on legumes/beans, seeds and nuts). We’ll look at recommended quantity and deconstruct the quality of plant protein. How nutritious are they? Are 'complementary proteins' important? We will discuss practical and delicious ways to incorporate these little protein wonders into our everyday diet… and we’ll have fun tasting as well!
