Finding Comfort and Ease: Introducing Our Neuropathy Support Class

For many cancer patients and survivors, neuropathy can be an unexpected and frustrating part of treatment and recovery. It may show up as numbness, tingling, burning, or discomfort in the hands and feet. These sensations can make everyday tasks, from buttoning a shirt to walking across a room, feel more difficult than they once were.

At Pacific Cancer Foundation, we listen closely to the needs of our community. In response to the growing number of individuals experiencing neuropathy during and after cancer treatment, we are now offering a Neuropathy Support Class designed specifically for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers in Maui County.

This gentle class is guided by our trusted Qigong instructor, Kurt Miyajima. Drawing from the mindful practices of Taiji and Qigong, sessions focus on slow, accessible movements that encourage circulation, support flexibility, and promote a greater sense of ease in the body. Movements are adaptable, and participants are always invited to move at their own pace.

Neuropathy can feel isolating, but you are not alone. Creating space for gentle movement, breath, and connection can offer meaningful support along the way.

The Neuropathy Support Class will be held on Thursdays, March 5 through April 9 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at Hui No Ke Ola Pono. There will be no class on March 26 in observance of Prince Kūhiō Day.

This class is offered as part of Pacific Cancer Foundation’s free support services for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers in Maui County. Registration is encouraged to help us create a comfortable and supportive environment for everyone.

If you or someone you love could benefit from this offering, we invite you to register by calling 808-242-7661 or using the link below. Drop-ins are also welcome.

We would be honored to welcome you.
