Cancer Community Art Class: Healing Through Creative Expression
Facilitated by Shane Meyer, MA, a master’s level expressive art facilitator
Pacific Cancer Foundation is honored to introduce a new creative offering for our Maui County community.
On March 28, we will host a Cancer Community Art Class, a welcoming expressive art workshop designed for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers across Maui County.
This gathering is more than an art class. It is an opportunity to slow down, reflect, and explore creativity as a pathway to connection and renewal.
Through guided prompts and gentle creative exploration, participants will create handmade cards using pastels, colored pencils, and mixed media materials. No artistic experience is needed. This workshop is about expression, not perfection.
Creativity can offer a quiet space to process emotions, honor personal experiences, and reconnect with inner strength. Whether someone is currently in treatment, navigating survivorship, or caring for a loved one, this class offers a supportive environment to simply show up and create.
All materials will be provided, and the workshop is always free for individuals and families affected by cancer in Maui County.
The class will be facilitated by Shane Meyer, MA, a master’s level expressive art facilitator and U.S. Navy veteran who believes deeply in the healing power of creativity. Shane creates supportive spaces where individuals can explore art as a tool for self-discovery and empowerment.
His approach is grounded, welcoming, and centered on helping each participant feel safe and seen.
