Mineko Kaiso Visiting Specialist

  • Maui Memorial Medical Center 227 Mahalani Street Wailuku United States (map)

In collaboration with Kapi'olani Women and Children's Medical Center in Honolulu, three times a month, the Foundation sponsors visiting specialists on Maui: a High Risk Breast Cancer Specialist, Terri Imada ARNP, and a Gynecological Oncologist, Dr. Michael Carney, meet with patients one-on-one. These specialties are not available on Maui, so we bring the doctor to the patient, rather than the patient incurring additional expenses traveling off-island.

This comprehensive program, serviced by Terri Imada, ARNP and Mineko Kaisho, ARNP from Kapi'olani Breast Center, provides services for the prevention and early detection of breast cancer in women who are at an increased risk due to their family history or previous pre-cancer diagnosis. The program encompasses radiological services, physician and nursing services, nutritional counseling, patient education, psychological and support services.
